Join us at 1623 Brewing Co. in Eldersburg, MD for a fun afternoon making a unique craft! When I saw a photo of a succulent birdhouse I knew I would someday need to re-create it. Working with my dad, an accomplished woodworker, to design and build a custom birdhouse out of reclaimed wood, I did just that! Topped with moss & succulents, this workshop will guide you to create a rustic birdhouse with a living roof!
This class will highlight the method of using floral glue to adhere succulents to natural surfaces, where they root and grow for seasons to come. This is a unique and delightful process that we are always excited to share!
Class will be held on Saturday, April 15th from 3 – 5 pm and will include 1 craft beverage from the brewery. All materials and instruction to make succulent birdhouse are also included (birdhouse is already assembled, we will be designing and decorating it with natural materials).
Birdhouses are fully functional to hang outside for the birds, but also make a great indoor decoration. Roof should be watered/misted occasionally to promote rooting of succulents. Succulents should be brought indoors in freezing temperatures (succulents can be removed from roof and re-potted if desired).
